Our Story
HutsHunter was born from frustration. Like many hiking enthusiasts, we experienced the disappointment of trying to book popular Great Walks months in advance, only to find everything was already sold out.
We noticed that cancellations happened regularly - life gets in the way, plans change, weather doesn't cooperate. But by the time these cancellations appeared on the DOC website, they were usually snapped up within minutes by lucky visitors who happened to be checking at just the right moment.
We thought: why should access to these incredible experiences depend on luck and timing? So we built HutsHunter to level the playing field and give every hiker a fair chance at their dream adventure.
